My Life in Postcards

Hi everyone! I’m Julia Karpinsky, a Junior at the University of Alabama. This semester I’m studying abroad in beautiful Barcelona, where I’m taking a course on Digital Blogging and Storytelling in the 21st Century. When asked to create a semester-long blog I immediately knew I wanted to document my life as I travel around Europe, stepping out of my comfort zone and immersing myself in new cultures. 

The name for my blog came to me while standing in a little gift shop outside of La Sagrada Familia on one of my first days in Spain. I saw a kiosk of postcards, and I had the idea to document my experience in each country on the back of a postcard from that city. 

I will provide a step-by-step itinerary for each country I visit, including museums, restaurants, landmarks, bars, cafes, and nightlife in various European countries as I immerse myself in European culture. 

I am excited to share my experience abroad and am hoping it persuades you to explore a transformational journey abroad for yourself.
